Presently, according to sources, only one MS is catering to the needs of both the hospitals (though unsuccessfully). The authorities have so far failed to find a way out, sources said. Pertinent to mention, that after the transfer of MS Dr Dara Singh of SMGS hospital to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, the state Health Ministry had issued an order on November 19, 2018, and appointed Dr Manoj Kumar Chalotra as MS of SMGS hospital and also given an additional charge of CD hospital to him. "This arrangement has affected working in the CD Hospital for the past five months," an official told Early Times. He said the head of any institute has to take round of the hospital to review the works and affairs but nothing of that sort has been happening. In addition other affairs are getting affected. Besides, in the absence of MS at SMGS hospital, the officials have to wait till 1:30 to 2 PM maximum days for discussing issues related to the hospital as MS is head of the hospital and authorized to take the final call on any decision. Even, sometimes patients do affect in the absence of the MS and have to wait for. A senior doctor accused the concerned authorities of prevailing mess in both the hospitals. "The authorities have failed to appoint a competent person thus causing confusion in both the hospitals," he said. |
