DLSA Udhampur organises legal awareness Prog for students
Participants given tips on threat of Cyber Crime

UDHAMPUR MAY 02: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with District Police Udhampur on Thursday organized an awareness camp at Degree College Udhampur where dozens of college students were taught about the safety and prevention against cyber crimes.

The program was presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge Sanjay Parihar (Chairman District legal Services Authority)’.

District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, SSP, Rajiv Omparkash Pandey, Additional Session Judge, C.L Bavouria and Secretary DLSA Sandeep Kour , Principal Degree College Dr N.K Resutra ,Sub Judge Spl Mobile Magistrate Romesh Lal , Additional Mobile Magistrate Anjana Rajput and District Mobile Magistrate Ajay Kumar retainer lawyer Sanjeet Kumar were present on the occasion .

Resource person Senior Superintendent of Police J&K police ( Security wing ) M.Y Kichloo informed the students about various types of cyber crimes and their repercussions .He said that every minute, on an average, nearly 80 people in India fall prey to some form of cyber crime and the awareness initiatives in place to prevent them are not enough,.

The expert in cyber Security taught them on how to use social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and other operational sites with safety. He also informed students about the cyber crime, using social networking sites, and how to tackle the situation if their email id or the profiles on social networking site are hacked. He informed where to complaint if such situations do occur. He advised the students not to share their id passwords, bank account details and other personal or professional details on internet and also not to click or open any lottery win advertisements or job advertisements blinking on the window as they are the fake ones.

Chairman DLSA, Principal District and Session Judge Sanjay Parihar and Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour , while addressing the gathering of students, said that as the cyber crimes increase with growing use of internet and Smartphones, DLSA felt need to aware students and people about Cyber Crime and Cyber security .They informed students about cyber laws and taught them how to protect themselves from such crimes.

Secretary DLSA informed that they will hold such legal awareness programmes on regular intervals to benefit the masses.

Principal of the Degree College Dr N.K Resutra also spoke on the topic.
