To impress 'Boss' Mehbooba, PDP leader ridicules himself, his father
Imminent rout creates stir at last!

Early Times Report
jammu, May 2: It seems as if the imminent rout of the PDP is taking toll on mental equanimity of its leaders as in a bid to score brownie points they unknowingly ridicule none but themselves.
An amusing statement came out from senior PDP leader and former National Conference rebel Dr Mehboob Beg. Beg- son of NC stalwart Mirza Afzal Beg, considered a trusted lieutenant of NC founder Sheikh Abdullah- was a Member Parliament and a senior NC leader till the 2014 polls. He bid adieu to the party and joined Peoples Democratic Party.
On Thursday, Beg reacted to Omar Abdullah' statement in which he had accused PDP of being responsible for all the miseries surrounding people at the present time. However, what proved counter-productive for Mehboob Beg was the statement in which he tried to hit back at National Conference. Little did he know that he was in actual exposing none but himself during the entire process.
"No one in South Kashmir has forgotten what NC did to workers of Jamat-e-Islami in 1970s. Mr. Omar Abdullah himself stands responsible for devastation of South Kashmir, when during his father's rule POTA was imposed, notorious STF and Ikwan was unleashed on people especially in south Kashmir," Beg said in a statement.
Beg reminded Omar that that it was in his rule that South Kashmir faced worst security crackdown that destroyed many families.Everyone knows the shameful role that Omar Abdullah and his administration played in protecting perpetrators of the crime of disrespecting daughters of South Kashmir," he reminded.
However, this NC leader needs to be reminded that it was him who was an active member of the NC when Omar according to him was "unleashing terror upon people." By targeting NC rule that was between 2009 to 2014, Dr Beg is targeting himself and by going back to history and ridiculing Sheikh Abdullah, Dr Beg is in actual targeting is father Mirza Afzal Beg who was Abdullah's right hand man.
Interestingly, this is not for the first time that PDP has been caught on the wrong foot.
On April 27, this year, Mehbooba exposed none but her own party and also indirectly held her own father responsible for eroding Article 370 when he was the Congress Chief in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ironically, Mehooba accused her party's former ally Ghulam Nabi Azad of eroding Article 370 when he was the chief minister by transferring thousands of Kannals of land to shine board. She perhaps forgot the fact that her party patron Muzaffar Hussain Beigh was the Deputy Chief Minister in Azad's government and late Qazi Afzal- senior PDP leader- was the Forest Minister when land to shrine board was transferred.
Also in her statement, Mehbooba accused NC Founder Sheikh Abdullah of accepting the post of Chief Minister in 1975 during Indira Abdullah accord. What she forgot is the fact that when the accord was signed, her father and PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was holding a key position in Congress then. Also the post of the Prime Minister was converted into that of the Chief Minister during the regime of G.M Sadiq and her father was a cabinet minister in that government. Mufti in 1972, became a Cabinet Minster and also Congress party's leader in the Legislative Council. He was made the state Congress president a couple of years later. In 1986, he was appointed as the Union Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
