5/6/2019 10:34:39 PM

Jammu, May 6

The General Railway Police on Monday conducted mock drill exercise at Jammu Tawi Railway Station as a part of routine exercise to strengthen security grid.

The GRP team headed by DySP Anita Pawar, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Railway Station along with Station House Officer, Vinod Kundal, this evening conducted the security mock drill exercise at the platform and the surrounding areas in assistance with the Dog Squads.

The railway police squad during the drill frisked the luggage of the passengers at random while the lady police in the team also checked the female passengers at the platform and their belongings.

“Mock drill exercise is a part of our routine exercise and is being conducted to create awareness about the security and make people alert on the spot besides asking to remain vigilant and be eyes and ears to the police because they can play an active role,” said an official.

They said that such drills will remain continue as Lok Sabha elections are in progress and annual Amarnath Yatra is also starting from July 1.
