Jammu, May 7: SS Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi held a meeting with all the members of the Civil Society, prominent citizens & others and congratulated the Chief Election Commissioner of India & his team and J&K State Administration for holding Lok Sabha elections in J&K State successfully and peacefully except a few minor incidents. It is also happy to note that large number of youths (Boys & Girls) of the country including J&K state have participated in this election. The Chairman, J&K Intellectual Civil Society further remarked that vote is an ultimate weapon with the common man to elect the candidate of his choice in a democratic country. In J&K state, people also exercised this power by using this weapon (vote), in order to elect the candidates of their own choice freely. Democratic system of India means that Govt. of the people, Govt. by the people and Govt. for the people, i.e under the democratic system, the people are at liberty to elect the candidates of their choice by casting their votes. The counting of the votes will take place on 23-05-2019 for the purpose of forming the new government at centre. All the members of the Civil Society and others who attended the meeting expressed their thanks to the Chairman,S.S Sodhi for making them aware about so many matters in detail.
They also thanked the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India and J&K State Administration for holding the Lok Sabha elections in the country successfully.
