Div Com wages `war' on polythene, Pitches for promotion of Jute bags | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 10: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today chaired a meeting with officers of Handloom, Handicraft and other concerned departments to review employment generation programmes. The Div Com asked the Handloom department to develop cotton and jute bags and other items to discourage use of banned polythene material. He also asked the Handicraft department to encourage the interested and potential persons for adopting production of bamboo products as entrepreneurship. The Div Com also asked the business houses to extend marketing support to these artisans and SHGs sell their products in a hassle free manner. He asked them to vigorously encourage selling of their products in jute and cotton bags which will facilitate these groups to market their production easily. |
