Police register FIR in minor’s rape case, accused arrested | ET Impact | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 17: Acting swiftly on Early Times report, Janipur Police Station registered an FIR in the alleged rape case of a minor in Jammu and arrested the accused. As per information, Janipur Police Station registered an FIR and arrested accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl repeatedly (as per family statement). In relation to this, a case FIR no 73/19 under section 363, 343, 376 RPC, 3/4 POCSO act and medical examination also conducted in the presence of Police. SHO Janipur Harmohinder Singh said an FIR has been lodged after receiving the complaint and accused was also arrested by the Police. He also said the medical of the minor also conducted and further investigation is on. Pertinently, ET carried a news item in which family had alleged that police refused to register the case against the accused. Its in place to mention here that as per the family of the victim, the accused had taken their minor daughter for an outing, on the morning of May 11, 2019 from Jammu to Himachal Pradesh where he kept the girl in a room and raped her for three to four days. After her return, the family approached Police Station Janipur and requested them to register complaint in this regards but officials at the police station refused to accept their complaint. |
