Early Times Report
kishtwar, May 17: The members of the minority community in Kishtwar and Doda District today observed peaceful shutdown against the failure of the authorities to arrest the killers of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO killed on April 9th this year inside District Hospital Kishtwar. The shutdown was also observed against the alleged failure of NIA to nail the assailants, who killed BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar on 11 November 2018.
As per the details available with "Early Times", all the shops, business establishments, schools and institutions belong to minority community in Doda and Kishtwar District remained closed on the call given by Santhan Dharam Shabha Kishtwar. The Sabha is demanding the arrest of the culprits involved in the killings in Kishtwar District and is also demanding that Kishtwar District should be handed over to Army so that "operation all out" could be started in district to eliminate the militants. The Sabha is also demanding strengthening of VDCs & DDCs.
It may be recalled that last week, the angry people held strong protest against the killers not being arrested till date. Protesters ransacked the office complex of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo who heads the Majlies e Shora Committee Kishtwar has called for shutdown in Chenab Valley on Saturday against the killing of father of five daughters in Bhaderwah town and demanded arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of Nayeem Ahmed Shah.
Delivering a Friday sermon, Imam Farooq Ahmed Kichloo said, "We equally condemn the killing of Parihar brothers as well as Nayeem Ahmed Shah in Bhaderwah and demand that his killers should be unmasked and brought to justice."
He said that it is not only the minority community that has suffered during the three decades of militancy, but majority community also has suffered. "Besides facing target killings, several people disappeared mysteriously during these years and till date nobody knows about these disappeared persons," he added.
Kichloo also called for peace and communal harmony and urged the people to maintain calm and also condemn any form of violence. He said that various religious organizations from Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban Districts were taken on board before announcing peaceful shutdown in Chenab valley for Saturday.
