| 6964 bottles of Cough Syrup seized, accused arrested | | |
JAMMU, June 6: In continuation of its drive against drug trafficking Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Unit Jammu affected a seizure of Pharmaceutical drugs having 6964 bottles of Cough Syrup containing Codeine Phosphate and 12814 Spasmo-Proxyvon capsules.
As per details, in which 3 persons have been arrested by NCB team from village Sehora, district Jammu out of which 2 persons are resident of Sehora village of district Jammu and 1 person belongs from district Baramulla. The contraband was concealed in Jute and Plastic gunny bags.
During the preliminary investigation of the arrested person revealed that the drug was originated from Delhi and destined to Kashmir Valley. This is the 5th seizure (3-Charas, 1 Poppy straw and 1 Pharmaceutical drugs) affected by NCB Zonal Unit Jammu during this a year and continuous efforts are going on to nab the drug smugglers in the area of jurisdiction and adjoining area.
Further investigation is under process to explore linkages between the drug smuggling from Kashmir valley and other states of India.
