SKCC outplays GCC by 54 runs, lifts trophy

Jammu, June 9: Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club (SKCC) lifted Jai Chandi Maa T-20 Cricket Tournament by defeating Garh Cricket Club (GCC) by 54 runs in a summit clash being played at Bishnah Stadium, here today.
Earlier, Sher-e-Kashmir cricket club led by Aman Cheema won the toss and elected to bat first. Akash Khajuria (58 runs of 36 balls) played magnificent innings and ensured a challenging total on the scoreboard, while quickfire 31 runs of 11 balls by innings Anil Langeh @Shalu helped SKCC to post 177 runs in the stipulated overs. For GCC Vicky scalped 3 wickets while Saqib, Sahil and Ashish shared 2 wickets each.
GCC, in their run chase suffered initial loss, however Gorav (22 runs in 22 balls) and Amu (19 runs off 13 balls) helped GCC to recover as the duo extracted 58 runs in the batting power play. Later, the GCC could not held their nerves under pressure and got collapsed like house of cards as they ended up on 125, Courtesy the disciplined bowling performances by SKCC bowlers.
Anchal with 5-fer remained the pick of the bowlers for SKCC while Abhinav took 3 wickets, Rohan also scalped 2 wickets. Anchal from SKCC was also declared as Man of the Match. Akash from SKCC was declared as Player of the series.
Proving rural youth a platform to showcase their talent, Jai Chandi Maa T-20 Cricket tournament extracted some thrilling encounters with 8 Cricket Clubs clashed for the summit title. The tournament was organized by Rakesh Kumar (Sehwag).
Senior BJP leader & Hon'ble Member Legislative Council Ramesh Arora was the chief guest on the occasion while Akash Choudhary former Ranji Player and SHO Bishnah were the guests of honour. The guests presented Winners Trophy to the SKCC Captain Aman Singh Cheema besides presented individual awards.
