Health of Hajin is not well, since 1962 CHC never developed | Model village politically deprived, masses suffer | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 28: Despite having their own MP, the local residents of Hajin and its adjacent areas in Bandipora district of north Kashmir are still living in stones age as the health sector is in ailing conditions and the authorities at the helm of affairs are least bothered about the people of this area. According to sources that, the Community Health Center (CHC) in Hajin was established in the year 1962-63 and since then it was not developed as it should have been in the present status. The local residents of Hajin complained that, they have been left at the mercy of God, no of times we made representation before the former Member of Legislative Assembly from their Sonawari Constituency, but nothing was done for the area. The CHC was never developed on modern lines, there is a huge population in Hajin area, and the people are suffering like anything, we have been shown green meadows only, said Fayaz Ahmad a local resident of Hajin. Sources said that here are some old type X-Ray, ECG and urine examine machines while as people always come here with some hopes that they will get good treatment as they have no other choice where they can visit and get treated. Locals alleged that, almost staff remains absent from their duties, and with the result the local masses suffers a lot, as this area (Hjin) is being considered as centrally located place in Bandipora district. A local resident told Early Times that, basically the Hajin Model Village is politically deprived and with the result no attention was paid to our area. The indifferences between political parties have made us to suffer, recently we took participation in Lok Sabha elections, and the result is before the political leaders, they can confirm from their political agents that where from they got maximum votes in Bandipora district, said Bashir Ahmad of Hajin village. Locals said that, Hajin area is represented by Mohammad Akbar Lone since 2002, and in 2014 Assembly elections Lone won the election from the constituency by defeating the PDP candidate, Yasir Reshi. Irony of the fact is that, the lawmaker and Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency has not made any visible progress on developmental fronts, otherwise we would not been facing hardships, locals alleged. Locals said that, we are hopeful of governor led administration especially of Satya Pal Malik that he will give due attention towards our problems and grievances that we the inhabitants of Hajin area are suffering for want of good health care. |
