Azad trying to bring Cong-PDP-NC together to take on BJP in assembly polls | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 30: Realizing that it is difficult rather impossible to beat BJP in the forthcoming assembly elections, leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken in the initiatives to bring Congress, PDP and NC on a single platform ahead of the assembly polls. Azad for the quite some days has been trying to forge Mahagathaband on three parties to take on BJP. Credible sources said that as of now Azad has not given expected response from NC leadership but he is trying his best to rope in NC leadership by creating fear of BJP. Sources said that NC leadership is hopeful of getting good number of seat on its own in Kashmir Valley so party has, so far, given cold shoulder response to Azad's proposal but party has yet not out-rightly rejected the same formula. NC leadership, sources said, waiting for BJP's next action in J&K before giving consent to Azad's proposal of Mahagathabandan in J&K. "At this point of time NC leadership is not ready to take confrontation with BJP so party is buying some time to take decision", sources revealed. Sources said that as far as PDP is concerned party leadership has given positive signal to this proposal to stop BJP at any cost. "There are many old Congressmen in PDP who are ready to join hands with their parent party to take on BJP in the assembly elections", sources said and revealed that a meeting of PDP and Congress leaders was held recently in this regard. Facing identity crises after large number of leadership have quitted the party, PDP leadership is ready to join any front at this point to time to save the party from further disintegration. |
