Early Times Report Jammu, June 30: The Union Home Ministry has rejected out of hand the talk that the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists could strike at Pulwama because of the intelligence failure. Jaish terrorists had attacked CRPF vehicles at Lethpora, Pulwama, on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, on February 14, 2019. Over 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives and many others had suffered injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast. The gory incident took place when a CRPF convoy, comprising around 2,500 personnel, was attacked by a "suicide bomber who rammed a car laden with explosives into one of the buses". The Union Government has said in unambiguous terms that "there was no intelligence failure in the Pulwama attack". This was the Government's response when asked "whether the reasons of Pulwama attack was a failure of intelligence". It was none other than MoS Home G. Kishan Reddy, who set the record straight and cleared the air. "Jammu & Kashmir is affected by terrorism sponsored and supported from across the border for the last three decades. However, owing to the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and sustained action against the terrorists by the security forces, a large number of terrorists have been neutralized during the past few years," PoS Home said, adding that "all agencies are working in a coordinated manner and the intelligence inputs are shared among various agencies on a real-time basis". "The investigation by NIA into the Pulwama attack so far has resulted in identifying the conspirators, suicide attacker and the vehicle provider," he further said |
