Early Times Report Jammu, July 1: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Monday expressed grief and sorrow over the death of 36 persons in a road accident in Kishtwar district. Munish, while carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, said, "Our heart goes out for the families, who lost their kith and kin in the dreadful accident." Munish said, "It's unfortunate that the politicians who have represented us during the past seven decades have failed to even develop the basic road infrastructure in the hilly areas of the Jammu region." "The forthcoming Assembly elections are a golden opportunity for all of us to send a clear message to the politicians, whom we have elected during all these years, that they have failed to deliver and we don't trust them anymore," said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming Assembly polls as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency. He said, "Our leaders have developed a habit of issuing statements after any accident takes place. They have never gone beyond issuing a statement as they fell that their responsibility ends by just expressing grief." Munish asked people not to repeat the mistakes, which they have been committing for the past seven decades. "Cast your vote in favour of the candidates, who can work and do something for you. Don't elect such people who forget everything after getting elected," Munish added. |
