Rajouri, July 2: Taking strong cognizance of the news item published in Early Times, the Police Station Dharamsal registered a FIR against Sarpanch Lower Siot Dr Ram Chander Sharma for harassing an Anaganawri worker and arrested him.
The police today registered a FIR No. 41/2019 u/s 354 RPC against Sarpnch Lower Siot of Tehsil Siot district Rajouri after complaint lodged by the victim (Surita Chadha). After registering FIR, she thanked ADC Sunderbani Vinod Kumar, Tehsildar Siot and SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas for conducting fair investigation and got registered FIR against the accused.
Pertinently Early Times had published a news item title "Sarpanch Lower Siot harasses Anganwari worker" in its June 29 publication. As per victim, Surita Chadha alleged that a Sarpanch of Panchayat Lower Siot of District Rajouri has allegedly been harassing a female Anganwari worker, who has been running centre in Ward No. 1 of the panchayat by threatening her to shift the centre. While narrating her ordeal to Early Times, the Anagwari worker Surita Chadha said that the Sarpanch of Panchayat Lower Siot Dr Ram Chander Sharma has been continuously meting out mental harassment in one pretext or the other. The Anagwari worker alleged that Sarpanch Lower Siot has not been checking attendance register of the centre and ask her to come other time. "He asks me to come alone in the evening for checking of attendance register.
