Early Times Report JAMMU, July 3: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted a surprise anti-stray cattle drive in different areas of Jammu city including Trikuta Nagar, Satwari, Digiana, Channi, Gandhi Nagar Jewel, Gujjar Nagar, Janipur and Roop Nagar. During the drive, 14 stray cattle were lifted and impounded at JMC Cattle pound Dogra Hall. Giving details about the drive, Dr Zaffar Iqbal, Municipal Veterinary Officer, said that majority of the dairy owners after milking let loose their animals on roads and streets resulting in frequent traffic jams and accidents. Veterinary wing of JMC has been lifting the sick/injured/accidental stray animals round the clock and shifting these animals into Municipal Animal Care, Roop Nagar for further treatment. This wing has also lifting the stray cattle on daily/routine basis and impounding them at Cattle pound Dogra Hall. The drive was conducted under the directions of Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor JMC Purnima Sharma and Commissioner JMC Pankaj Magotra. |
