Is PDP going to split on July 28?
7/8/2019 12:31:13 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 7: Is Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is going to split on July 28-the foundation day of the party because many senior leaders including some close relative of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed have maintained a distance from day today activities of the party.
Formed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on July 28, 1999, PDP is going to celebrate its 20th foundation day on July 28.
Credible sources said that a group within party is seriously thinking to organize a parallel function on the same day to claim that their PDP is real because PDP, formed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was secular but present PDP is turned into a communal and regional outfit-without any programme and policy. The secular visionary leaders of PDP are seriously thinking to maintain a distance from communal elements in the party to form real PDP to fulfill wishes and aspirations of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Meanwhile according to media reports in Kashmir Valley, some PDP leaders are reluctant to support Mehbooba Mufti and trying to form a real PDP without Mehbooba Mufti and her close relatives.
These leaders are convincing Mufti Sajjad Hussain , cousin of Mehbooba Mufti to head the party to save it from further damage and alienation from the people.
Mufti Sajjad Hussain is the son of Late Muti Mohammad Sayed's brother Mufti Mohammad Amin.
Quoting sources a news agency said that more than 20 senior leaders have expressed their faith in the leadership of Mufti Sajjad and have asked him to be the leader of the party.
