Clinical Media XI trounces Gladiators CC by 54 runs

JAMMU, July 14: Amit Kumar and Ranjeet Singh hit brilliant fifties as Media XI Cricket Club produced a dominating all-round performance to beat Gladiator Cricket Club (GCC) by 54 runs in a T20 match played at Satwari Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Earlier, winning the toss, Media XI led by Vivek Suri opted to bat first. Amit Kumar 61 (39 balls) and Ranjeet Singh 52 (34 balls) enabled Media XI to dominate from the very first ball of the match, forging a 111-runs stand, for the opening wicket. The duo helped Media XI post a challenging 162 runs on scoreboard in the stipulated 20 overs. Faheem Tak 18 (24 balls) was the other notable contributor to the Media XI total. For Gladiators Skipper Amar and Yadav took a wicket apiece.
Later, disciplined bowling coupled with excellent fielding by the Media XI bowlers wrapped up Gladiators CC on paltry 108, thus won the match by 54 runs. For Media XI Faheem Tak with (3 for 16) was the wrecker in chief, whereas Rahul Khatri, Sachin Singh took 2 wickets each. Vivek Suri and Ranjeet also shared wicket apiece.
Faheem Tak (18 runs and 3 wickets) was declared as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
