India sends ultimatum to Pakistan
7/15/2019 11:46:01 PM
India has given an ultimatum to Pakistan under which New Delhi may hit hard against any misadventure. Any misadventure by Pakistan Army will be repelled with punitive response and no act of terror will go unpunished, Army chief General Bipin Rawat said recently. Speaking at an event on '20 Years after Kargil Conflict', Rawat said Pakistan Army, time and again, resorts to misadventure, either through state-sponsored terrorism or intrusions in India. And India has been making pleas for end to export of terror but Islamabad has not accepted India's pleas. That is the reason for not reopening the doors of dialogue with Pakistan.
"The Indian armed forces stand resolute and ready to defend our territorial integrity. Let there be no doubt that misadventures will be repelled with a punitive response," he said. This is a warning to Pakistan and how will Islamabad and its Army respond to this warning. And Gen. Rawat has stated that the rise of non-state actors and the readiness to use terror and other irregular methods of fighting have become a new norm, he said. Addition of cyber crime Gen Rawat has explained that violating the ceasefire and pushing groups of militants into Kashmir has been the usual norm of Pakistan space domain has changed the battlefield scenario, the Army chief noted.
Rawat also said no act of terror will go unpunished. "Surgical strikes post-Uri and Balakote have amply demonstrated our political and military resolve against terror. Any act of terror will not go unpunished.
Surgical strikes, whether in Uri or in Balakote, must have given an idea to Pak Army about India's capability of hitting hard the enemy it resorts to any misadventure. Gen Rawat is quite candid and peace is possible in the region provided Pakistan stopped export of terror because India has already warned that talks and terror cannot coexist. It finally depends on Pakistan whether it stops export of terror which could facilitate bilateral talks. And when the bilateral talks begin Pakistan has the liberty of raising one issue or the other failing which war is imminent between the two nuclear countries. And it is fruitful if the UJS or the UN intervene and resolve the conflict. And if the US and the UN do not support India it may motivate Pakistan to play a big mischief.
