Jammu, Aug 6: The normalcy continue to prevail in Kishtwar District of Jammu and Kashmir as curfew continue to remain in force on 2nd Consecutive day in Kashmir today following government of India decision to scrape the waxed Article 370 and 35 A of the constitution that guaranteed special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir beside allow it's assembly to pass the law defining the state subject.
As per the details available with Early Times, District Administration impose the restrictions in wee hours of the Monday morning beside internet services and mobile services also remain suspended in the District, However landline phones and broad band services which was completely blocked in Kashmir valley remain functional in Kishtwar District, though the broadband speed was very low.
Heavy deployment of security forces including Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF, JKAP and other security forces remain deployed in strengthen the security in the District that witnesses several communal clashes in last 3 decades of Militancy. All the entry and exit points remain sealed in the District, however essential services including Hospital and Ambulance services are working closely in coordination with the police and administration.
Several people who were trapped outside their homes despite restrictions in place were allowed to move from one place to another place after proper frisking. District Administration and Police yesterday cleared around 2000 stranded passengers who had left Jammu late in the evening. All these passengers were allowed to enter into the District after proper frisking at Thatri while several students and people are still trapped in Jammu as a result of which their parents are worried and are praying for their safety away from home.
One Auqib Hussain Malik, resident of Sangrambata told the Early Times that he faces lot of hardship to reach back home. "I have to change my vehicle from place to place-from Batote to Doda, Doda to Thatri and Thatri to Kishtwar by way of transhipment" said Auqib who arrived from Jammu to Kishtwar today. He said that he had to walk 6 KM from Shalimar in the outskirts of Kishtwar town to reach home.
He said that he didn't face too mush problem in terms of security placement and was not stopped anywhere added that though he was subjected to frisking and checking at various security restriction points.
Meanwhile District Administration as a part of peace initiative had detained over a dozen Separatist, PDP, NC leaders and some Social Activist for maintaining peace and communal harmony. The administration also put Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo under house arrest and was not allowed to move outside his home.
Speaking to Early Times, army officials said that they too are keeping a close eye on the situation in the town and were occasionally moving in the town added that the major security burden is being shared by the Police and other paramilitary forces. The officials said that in case anyone is in need to medical attention, same will be facilitated and are being felicitated. The officials said that there is sufficient stock of essentialities including medicines available in the District. They said that after analysing the situation, the decision with regard to easing out the restrictions will be taken at an appropriate time.
