Similar orders were issued by Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Piyush Singla, District Administration in Doda, Reasi and Kathua districts. The orders for Doda have said that the holiday has been declared for Monday and Tuesday.
Following the announcement today, the Government of India has also released a special advisory for all the states and union territories, asking them to be on high alert and maintain law and order. GoI has also categorically asked the states to offer all support to the migrant Kashmiri student community in the country.

Meanwhile, Section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been imposed in Jammu and Srinagar districts with effect from midnight. Also, all public meetings or rallies have been banned during the same.
"It should be noted that there will be no curfew in place as reported in a section of the media," the government order read.
