Doval for no inconvenience to people in Kashmir | Asks admin to establish media centers | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 10: In a bid to avoid any inconvenience to the people of Kashmir and to let media get information with regard to the situation through a single window, the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is understood to have asked the administration to establish media centers. Sources said the media center would be established in Srinagar and elsewhere where from regular briefings would be given to the media not only to give reliable information for the benefit of the people but also to arrest rumor mongering. Sources said the Jammu and Kashmir administration was asked to take this decision after the NSA felt need for establishment of such facility. It is pertinent mention that Doval has already asked the administration to establish around 300 telephone booths in Kashmir such that people are able to communicate with each other in the wake of communication clampdown in the valley. The NSA who is personally camping in Kashmir and travelled by road to some of most militancy infested areas has asked the administration to ensure that common people don't have to face any inconvenience. He has been personally interacting with the people and even visited downtown. It is pertinent to mention that in an effort to avoid violence, the administration has snapped phone and internet services in the valley since August 5, when New Delhi decided to divide the state into two union territories. When contacted a senior official said some such proposals were on the cards. He however declined to share any details. |
