Rich Tributes paid to Sculptor Gobind Kaur

Jammu, Aug 11: Rich tributes were paid by various organizations to Late (Smt.) Gobind Kaur, 1st Contemporary woman sculptor of J&K State on her 8th death anniversary today. Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (Regd.), Jammu dedicated its fortnightly literary meet today to Late Gobind Kaur, at Tagore Public Hr. Secondary School, Rani Bagh, Digiana, Jammu. Dr. Monojit and S. Amar Singh Kuka, President and Vice President of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu, respectively, jointly presided over the meeting.
Two sessions were conducted in the meeting of PLS, the first session was tributes paying one where S. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, S. Amar Singh Kuka and Dr. Monojit expressed their views on the life and contribution of Late Gobind Kaur. In the second session articles and poetry were presented by the members followed by an interaction on these articles and poetry. S. Jang S. Verman gave a brief resume of Late Gobind Kaur and her role as an artist in the state. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by S. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, former President, PLS who earlier welcomed Dr. Monojit back from his six months visit to United States and the writers who attended the meeting. Other members who attended the meeting included Akhilesh Nigam, Former Regional Secretary, Regional Centre, Lalit Kala Academi, Lucknow, Joginder Pal, Sunita Handoo, Pankaj Raina, Anil Zutshi, Sahil Sodhi, Atul Mattu, Arjun Yadav and K S Gill.
