Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24: It has been 20 days since Government of India Reorganised J&K state into two Union Territories (UTs) J&K and Ladakh but curb continued to be at place in Jammu as well as in Kashmir region.
In Jammu mobile services continued to remain suspended and people have no idea when these service will be restored. Authorities have claiming that the clampdown has been imposed to prevent rumour mongering and all the top officials are tight lipped as when the restrictions will be lifted from Jammu and Kashmir.
Analysts while taking to Early Times said, "Ban on connectivity is making people restless. People in Jammu want to know why the internet has been banned in Jammu region despite no untoward incident reported in Jammu region".
He said, "Snapping of mobile and internet services that too indefinitely has left the people in lurch in winter capital. A politician said, "The snapping of the mobile and internet has added insult to the injury."
"Are these the "Acche Din" we have been waiting for all these years", he asked. The politician said the people from Jammu have once again proved that they are the most tolerant people and are facing everything with a smile as they know the national interest is supreme but the government of the day should pay some attention towards the needs of the people and inconvenience being faced by them.
"Since the day J&K has been reorganized, the business activities across the state has slowed down as Kashmir is completely cut-off. One hopes that administration has a plan to put the state back on track as the prolong lockdown has not helping anyone's cause", an observer said.
"There are reports from Kashmir that Pak stooges are trying to regroup and take advantage of prevailing uncertainty in the valley. Some groups on Friday asked people to march towards the office of United Nations at Sonwar in Srinagar but the heavy deployment of security forces on the Srinagar streets foiled the designs of trouble mongers", he added.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir administration needs to review the situation and work towards providing relief to the people, at-least in the areas where no untoward incident has taken place.
