Abrogation of article 370: Digiana Traders optimist for bright future but concerned over instantaneous losses | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: Welcoming the bold and historic decision taken by Modi government over scraping of special status Jammu and Kashmir, where businessmen of Digiana are seems hopeful for their bright future but also concerned over instantaneous losses occurred due to blockage of internet facilities and prevailing situation of the Valley. While taking team of Early Times, the businessmen of Digiana said that no-doubt abrogation of article 370 would generate jobs avenues for youth of Jammu as well as overall development of Jammu region which has been lacking since the special status came into existence in the state. The Kashmir centric politicians had invested the lion share of centrally sponsored scheme at Kashmir and least have been utilised for the development of Jammu, resulting of it, the Jammu always become a laggard interm of development. Rahul Attri, an electrician said that however, the demand of abrogation of Article 370 was so old but successive Kashmir centric government have failed to take the decision but it only Modi government which challenged the monopoly of Kashmiri politician and took bold step by scraping it. "In coming days, the big industrialists and other business houses have shown their interest for investment in Jammu and Kashmir and hopefully, it would be proved as milestone to curb militancy as well as to generate Jobs opportunity. Tarun Kumar, another trader said that no doubt after scarping of special status, we have faced a slowdown in business due to banning of internet facilities but we stand with government decision and all the losses would be compensated in long run. "Jammu's business is directly and indirectly associated with Kashmir, if Kashmir situation would be normalised, the Jammu's business automatically increased. Since the government had announced that the special statues is no more, our business is getting 75 percent loss. Our vehicles are standard in Kashmir and we are not in position to pay bank instalment", said Charan Preet Singh, a transporter. Amit Kumar Sharma, owner of Laxmi Electronic said that abrogation of article 370 is welcoming step of Modi government and hopefully it would generate jobs opportunities for local youth but blackout of communication medium and internet facilities is directly affecting the business now. The government should take decision for immediate restoration of internet facilities so that the spirit of digital India would have been alive. |
