DLSA organizes legal awareness camp at school

Kathua, Aug 31: Under the able-aegis of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Kathua), Pawan Dev Kotwal, a legal awareness camp was organized by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kathua, Aarti Mohan in collaboration with Chief Education Officer Kathua at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Kathua on the theme "Child Labour, Child Abuse, Rights of women and their protection from Domestic Violence". The main objective of the programme was to make the students aware about child rights, child abuse and various issues related to women and steps provided in law for overcoming the same.
While speaking on the occasion Retainer lawyers, Naiya Sharma, Anil Kalotra and Neeraj Kumar delivered the lecture to the students about Child rights and protection of children from sexual offence. They also highlighted various schemes being launched by the Govt. for the benefits of Child and women rights and also impressed upon the students to take maximum benefits of these schemes.
Staff of Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Kathua along with large number of students participated in this awareness camp.
On the occasion many students from the schools also read papers as the subject child abuse.
The program was also attended by the Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority and Tehsil Legal Services Committee.
Principal, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School, Kathua, Kewal Singh delivered vote of thanks and requested the DLSA Kathua to hold more such enlightening program in the near future.
