Work afoot on 109 PWD languishing projects

Rajouri, Aug 31: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today reviewed the physical and financial progress of PWD projects approved under languishing project scheme in the district, here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by SE PWD, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair, Executive Engineer PWD Nowshera division, Pervaiz Ahmed and all the Assistant Executive Engineer and Junior Engineers of the department associated with the languishing projects.
The SE PWD informed the meeting that 73 projects have been approved under languishing scheme in Rajouri division at a sanctioned cost of Rs 191.09 crore. The projects so approved include 10 bridges, 55 Roads, 06 school buildings, a PWD building and a youth services and sports building. For PWD Nowshera division 36 projects have been approved which include 08 bridges, 24 roads and 04 school buildings, he added.
The meeting reviewed progress on bridges and roads including the Irwin Khater Bridge, construction of Motorable bridge adjacent to Abdullah bridge, single lane steel grinder Motorable bridge and approaches at Tasyala Panjgrain, construction of bridge at Sowara Galla, steel girder bridge at Saloki nallah,steel girder bridge at kathanu, Kalara bridge and bridge at swawa on Kalsian road, upgradation of smote to Targain road, Chala Bagla to Garanghi road, road from Dassal to Dassal Sheeran, road from Kalali to Bhattian, road from Dalhori to extension upto Kanthol, road from Mohalla Gulzar Ahmed to Baba Jammu Sahib, Badhoon crusher to Khui dhraman, Road from Sunderbani to Loharakote and Road from Nonial to Masjid Mohalla Nowshera. It was informed that Irwin Khater Bridge is almost complete, while the work on the Single lane Abdullah bridge will start next week and work on Sowara gall bridge will be completed in October. He informed that work on the road from Bajwal to Siot with 80 mtrs span bridge and Kalra bridge has been completed. He also informed that the road from the Kalideh to Baba Narsingh, link road to BGSBU, road from Mohalla Gulzar Ahmed to Baba Jammu Sahib and road from Klalai to Battain have been completed.
The meeting set the target of completing 15 roads by the end of October, this year.
