Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association has hailed the Government of India's first ever major employment package for J&K State youth. At a meeting held at Sri Guru Gyagi Asthan in Shahzadpur Kothi here today, which was chaired by the Association Chief Advisor Sarpanch Subedar (Retd) Ghaseeta Ram Lakhotra and attended by a majority of Batwal Community members hailed the Government of India's first ever major employment package for J&K State youth. Addressing the meeting, the Association President Subedar Major (Retd) Romesh Sargotra said that the 50,000 jobs to be given to the State youth in addition to recruitment in Army and Central Armed Police Forces would be deemed as biggest relief for at least 50,000 families. This is the most commendable step taken by the Union Government for J&K. We fervently hope to get much more in future also, Sargotra added. The Central Government is also expected to come up with 'Special Package for Batwals' based on the survey report of their ethnographic study undertaken in 1994 by the Central Planning Commission, said the Association General Secretary Ex Naib Sarpanch Ram Lal Lakhotra while speaking during the meeting. |
