They alleged that the roads in entire Qasim Nagar were dug for laying down sewerage pipe lines but after completing the work, the roads were not repaired due to which huge ditches have developed making difficult for any vehicular movement. "Not only can't the vehicular movement but the residents walk over these roads comfortable which clearly speaks of the negligence of the concerned department which is totally unaware of the public inconvenience," said a resident. He further said that they have been living in unhygienic environment as there is no proper management of disposal of garbage which is generated by the households. In absence of garbage bins, people dump the trash in open which remained unattended resulting emanating foul smell making difficult for the residents to breathe in such condition as well as these piles of garbage have become breeding ground for flies. A female resident expressing her concern over health issues, she said "My children fell ill due to unhygienic condition in the area. The department, which had dug the road for laying down sewerage line had promised to blacktop the road after completion of work but it did nothing," She further said that health has become main issue of every household here in the area only due to insanitation in the area. "We requested to the concerned officials to take action for cleanliness but there is no taker of our plights," she said further adding that if their problems were not mitigated at the earliest they will come on road to stage more aggressive protest against administration. |
