Change status quo: Munish tells people
9/6/2019 10:52:06 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: Editor Early Times Munish Gupta on Friday said that forthcoming assembly elections are an opportunity for the people of Jammu to change the status quo.
Carrying forward his mass contact programme in Kunjwani Munish said, "Reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir a big step towards changing the prevailing system in J&K. The old system revolves around just few peoples who call the shots and sold green to us."
"Time has come for dream merchants to wind up their shops and say goodbye to politics, as people are in no mood to listen to them", said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming assembly elections as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Munish said, "Since the day I have decided to contest the elections I have made every possible attempt to reach out to the people. I have visited all the areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency. In most of the areas people are up in arms against their former representatives. They (people) are yearning for a change. They are fed up of lipservice and hallow slogans which have been sold to them during all these years."
He said that disconnect between the people and the leaders who have represented them in the past has led common people losing faith over the system. "This void needs to be filed to restore the faith of people on the political system", Munish added.
