Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 8: The so-called chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yaseen Malik is all set to face the music as the special court in Jammu has issued production warrant against him in three decade old cases related to killing of four Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel and Rubiya Sayeed's abduction.
Malik at present is lodged at Tihar jail in New Delhi for his involvement in terror funding case the court has directed the Police to produce him in the court next week for the hearing of the cases, which were registered against him and accomplices in early 90s.
An analyst while talking to early Times said, "Malik has been escaping trail in the case for past many years, he during all these years, has been projecting himself, as a leader of Kashmiris and started believing that he is above the law, and he would be never trailed for the cases registered against him since 1990."
He said, "Nose was tightened around Malik and his outfit after Pulwama attack which left 40 CRPF jawans martyred in February this year. Soon after the attack on CRPF convoy the Government of India banned JKLF and massive shutdown was launched against the outfit, which comprise of mostly surrendered militants, who were instrumental triggering unrest in Kashmir during the past few years."
The analyst said in 1990s when militancy broke out in Kashmir the JKLF led from the front to push the Kashmiri Pandits out of the valley. "In 90s many cases were registered against JKLF militants who were forcing Kashmiri Pandits to flee the valley and many of them were involved in even the coldblooded murder of Kashmir Pandits", he added.
An observer said, "Time has come that JKLF militants including Malik be held accountable for their misdeeds. The trail in old cases against Malik is just a beginning their much more for him in store."
He said, "After enacting surrender drama in 1994 Malik project himself as peace lover to save himself from getting shot dead by the security forces. It is a known fact that Malik and his outfit pursued the agenda of Pakistan in Kashmir during the all these years. His close association with Mumbai attack master mind and global terrorist Hafiz Saeed is known to all, the NIA is probing how he (Malik) orchestrated protest and stone pelting in Kashmir."
