PDF wants restoration of constitutional guarantees
9/12/2019 10:43:29 PM
Several Kashmiri centric political parties have detailed the state's accession with India and the Government of India granting special constitutional guarantees and the PDF wants the centre to respect the old commitments. Chairman PDF said that the state of Jammu & Kashmir was an independent country upto 1947 which acceded to India on certain conditions including Article 370 and Article 35-A. He asked the center not to betray the people of the state for petty political interests. The PDF has asked the centre to restore constitutional provisions which has been revoked on August five. The PDF spokesperson said speaking to a gathering of his party workers, Hakeem Yaseen said that the people of the state have acceded to India with some expectations which should be fulfilled to win their hearts and minds.
He said previous regimes in the state with the blind support of the respective central governments have been repeatedly betraying trust and faith of the people for satiating their petty gains. The PDF has repeated betrayals with the trust of common masses have resulted in their deep alienation from the mainstream. He said need of the hour was to address the main cause of people's alienation and to punish those political parties who have ditched the people on false promises. The PDF feels that restoration of Article 370 an d 35 -A was part of the commitment which the centre had given to the state.
The PDF said that the blind support to some opportunistic political parties of the state during last seven decades reveal that Kashmir was put into flames by none other than India itself. He said Kashmiris are being treated just like slaves and they have been living in an environment where they live like slaves. The PDF is silent on the accusations of those parties that ditched people of Kashmir. The only alternative was to fight for the restoration of previous rest oration of constitutional guarantees that were deprived by Modi and his cabinet. The Only way was to get back Article 370 and 35-A and that alone could help the people of Kashmir to live a free living. Without restoration of Article 370 and 35-A people in Kashmir feel deprived of their rights.
