Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar inaugurates ANM School at Ramban

RAMBAN, Sept 15: Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar today inaugurated Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) School at Ramban and reiterated the Government’s commitment of providing a better and affordable healthcare system in J&K and observed that every possible effort is being made to strengthen and up- gradation of Nursing Services in every nook and corner of the state.
Financial Commissioner to Government Health and Medical Education; Atal Dulloo, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan, Director Health, Jammu, Dr. Samir Mattoo, SSP, Anita Sharma, SSP Traffic, JS Johar, ADDC, Nawab Din, ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, CMO, Dr. Janak Raj, Principal ANM, School, Dr. Vinod, various senior officers of civil and police administration were present at the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion Advisor Vijay Kumar extended heartiest congratulations to the newly selected trainees and impressed upon them to learn modern techniques of health services with dedication and work effectively towards the larger interest of the society.
Advisor also highlighted the significance of the ANM School in improving the status of Para- medical education in the state in general and in the district in particular. He stressed upon the students especially girl to work hard besides terming their education vital for their empowerment.
He also lauded the efforts of the doctors and other staff towards delivering better health care facilities and assured every possible support in making it more effective. He stressed upon imparting quality education and directed the Medical Superintendent, District Hospital (DH) Ramban to ensure grooming of this institution on the top-level.
In his address Financial Commissioner said that 11 such new institutes would start the functioning in current year across the state.
It was informed that ANM School building has been completed with an expenditure of rupees 269.30 lakh whereas an amount of Rs. 84.90 Lakh have been provided for the procurement of a school, Lab equipment, audio visual aids, book and furniture.
It was also informed that total 40 seats have been approved for admission to the school for three courses including twenty seats of FMPHW whereas 10 seats each for Pharmacist and Lab Assistant.
During the event, Advisor interacted with the medical faculties of institution and stressed upon them to impart the training in well manner to trainees for preparing best human resource in medical field.
Later, the Advisor also interacted with officers and officials of health department besides reviewing the status of health services being provided to patients in DH Ramban besides supplies of drug, equipments and machinery.
Earlier, Director Health presented the welcome address whereas principal of host ANM School culminated the programme with vote of thanks.
