Overloading in mini buses put lives at risk; MVD, Traffic police in deep slumber 9/17/2019 10:08:55 PM Arun Jasrotia Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: Over loading menace in Udhampur is day by day becoming a serious cause of concern. The mini buses are loaded beyond their capacity the district amidst operators' desire to earn more money while compromising safety of the passengers. The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) as well as the Traffic Police has miserably failed to take any strict action against those who are flouting the rules and regulations with impunity. People said that overloading by mini buses is commonly seen on inner routes like Tanal Road, the local mini bus operators are violating traffic rules and accommodating more passengers than the capacity. Some of the passengers especially students don't hesitate to hang on back side of the mini buses thereby giving invitation to a major mishap. Despite tall claims of authorities to fight the problem of overloading in district Udhampur, no concrete steps have been initiated so far on ground level to tackle the menace.
