IIMC Jammu holds workshop on cyber safety

Jammu, Sept 23: Indian Institute of Mass communication (IIMC) Jammu chapter organized a workshop on cyber safety with an aim to create awareness about safety measures while using social media platforms. In accordance with the partnership with IIMC, Tik Tok alongwith the representatives of Youth Ki Awaz, a media group from New Delhi, dwelt in details on various aspects of cyber security to save oneself from exploitation on social media. The workshop was presided over by the Regional Director of IIMC Jammu Manohar Khajuria. In his opening remarks, the Director Public Policy India, Tik Tok, Nitin Saluja underlined the need of creating awareness among the masses about the misuse of social media like WhattsApp, Facebook, You Tube, etc by certain elements creating troubles in the society. He said Tik Tok has initiated a campaign throughout the country to inform and educate the masses about use of these media platforms. Educational institutions, social groups and media organizations have been involved to create this awareness. Senior functionaries of Youth ki Awaz , Prashan Jha and Shikha Sharma in a power point.
presentation threw light on various methods used by fraudsters on social media to commit beside others the financial frauds and make pray the innocent people. The Regional Director in his concluding remarks urged the need to use social media very cautiously and in a responsible manner so that it does not hurt the society. Among others, the faculty members Sanjit Khajuria, Dr Anubhav Mathur and Ravia Gupta were also present on the occasion.
