Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Oct 9: Block Development Officer (BDO) Sunderbani relieved accountant who was attached with the office of Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouir in alleged misappropriation of funds nearly five months ago after Anti Corruption Bureau took notice of the matter.
The alleged accountant Ashok Kumar in BDO office Sunderbani was attached around five months ago by ACD Rajouri in a case of misappropriation of funds for withdrawing HRA and an inquiry was initiated against him, the story of which was published in Early Times newspaper on April 19, but the BDO Sunderbani didn't release him. "Despite order of attachment, the accountant continued to work in the office with the support of BDO Sunderbani which raised the eyebrows in the department, later the matter was brought into the notice of Anti Corruption Bureau, who took strong notice of the matter and sought explanation from the BDO Sunderbani for dishonoring the order," sources informed Early Times.
On seeing the ACB's intervention, the BDO Sunderbani immediately relieved the accountant and was attached with the office of ACD Rajouri. When contacted the BDO Sunderbani in this connection, he said that there was acute shortage of manpower in the office which led to delay in relieve of the accountant.
