2 killed, 14 injured in accident on Bhagra-Sarthal road

Jammu, Oct 11: In another tragic accident in Kishtwar District, two people were killed while 14 others were injured, three of them critical when a Cruiser bearing Reg No. JK17-7075 on its way from Bhagra-Sarthal road some 40 kms from Kishtwar town.
As per the details available with Early Times, the ill fated vehicle met with an accident at around 9 am after the driver of the vehicle lost his control over the vehicle as a result of which it fell in 250 meter deep gorge resulted into on spot death of one person while 15 other injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar by Kishtwar Police team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Aijaz Ahmed Wani who immediately rush to the spot after hearing about the incident. Among the 15 injured, one injured died at District Hospital Kishtwar while 9 injured persons were shifted to Jammu including 4 critically injured who were airlifted to Government Medical College Jammu.
After hearing about the accident former Congress Minister the Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and Sunil Kumar Sharma also rushed to district hospital Kishtwar to see the condition of the injured people.
"My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their dear ones in this unfortunate accident", Saroori said while expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, praying for strength to them to bear this irreparable loss. He also prayed for peace to the departed souls. He urged Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik and his administration to take effective steps to check road accidents and pass the directions to the traffic department to take adequate and stringent measures to check the recurrence of road accidents. He also urged the Governor to provide adequate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 10 lakhs each in favour of the deceased family members. The deceased passengers were identified as Kamlesh Kumar son of Dharam Singh, Pardeep Kumar son of Surjeet Kumar both resident of Paar Bhagra, Sarthal in tehsil and district Kishtwar. The injured were identified by police as Sheetala Devi D/o Ramesh Kumar, Mir Ali S/o Baji, Arun Kumar S/o Beer Singh, Suresh Kumar S/o Munshi Ram, Abdul Rashid S/o Mir Hussain, Mamta Devi W/o Raj Kumar, Suman D/o Beer Singh, Arjun Kumar S/o Krishan Lal, Mir Ahmed S/o Dita, Dita S/o Talib Hussain, Sushma Devi D/o Rajinder Kumar, Neema W/o Rajinder Kumar, Chancha Devi W/o Surjeet & Suraj S/o Surjeet. The eye witnesses said that 5-6 passangers were hanging around the ill fated vehicle while few were sitting on the roof top of the vehicle. Police has register an FIR and had started its investigation.
