Natrang screens its film "Gulab Gaatha" | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 19: In its endeavours to take 'Gulab Gatha' to every individual in Jammu, Natrang today screened its film 'Gulab Gaatha' at KC International School and International Delhi Public School. The series of the shows of the film Gulab Gatha was started on 17th August, 2019 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu where Natrang screened it thrice. It was also a great occasion for Natrang to give tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh on his 227th Birth Anniversary which is coming on 21st of October, 2019. Conceptualised, designed and directed by the son of the soil Balwant Thakur who is currently I the Cultural Diplomat of India to South Africa, this film was sponsored by Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Karan Singh inspired Balwant Thakur to write, produce and direct this first ever film on the history of great Dogra ruler who created the larger princely state of India. Sharing his views Balwant Thakur said that unfortunately J&K is the only state of Indian union where local history and culture is not taught to the students for obvious reasons. To make the younger generations aware of their rich past and also to sensitize them about the making of this state, Natrang with the help of Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust took this initiative to produce a film and now is being taken to every individual. |
