PDP's ousted leaders, aides hold meet, pledge unity | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 19: Two senior leaders who were ousted from the Peoples Democratic Party have joined hands and recently held meeting to decide future course of action in the wake of abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said the meeting facilitated by some Kashmiri businessmen, including a hotelier resolved for unity in their "coterie" and stressed on the neta duo to be united "against the dynasts." The two leaders, both of whom were ministers in the Peoples Democratic Party led previous government, were unceremoniously shown the door. While one of them was sacked from the council of minister before he resigned, the other one was thrown out of the party. Sources said the meeting held by the party after getting support from their friends camping in Ladakh resolved that money was no issue and that it was high time for the new group to work together in a "bid to get rid of the dynasts who had ditched them from time to time." Sources said the hotelier swore his alliance to the leader duo and told them that he would work for the "collective cause." It is pertinent to mention that the hotelier and the former minister, who is also a businessman, are believed to have common business interests at several places including Patnitop. Sources said the minutes of the meeting were conveyed to their friend camping in Ladakh for the last around a month adding that he was happy at the outcome of the meeting. It is pertinent to mention that the two leaders who were otherwise seen as rivals were brought closer by their common friend who had hosted them on a lunch party in Jammu last year. The group has been united since. Despite repeated attempts the two leaders couldn't be contacted for comments. |
