Public meeting organised at Baspur Bangla

JAMMU, Nov 2: In order to reach out to the general public and for better public service delivery, a public meeting was held at Baspur Bangla by District Police Jammu.
The meeting was attended by SDPO RS Pura Sheema N Qasba, SHO PS RS Pura- Rajeshwar S Slathia and IC BPP Baspur Bangla- ASI Mahinder Singh. There was large scale participation from Sarpanches of border area villages, members of the Panchayats from these villages and members of the public, including women and youngsters.
During the meeting, issues such as enforcement of traffic rules, eve teasing and the drug menace figured prominently in the discourse. The public representatives also brought forth infrastructural concerns affecting their areas.
Taking note of the concerns raised, SDPO RS Pura assures the participants that their actionable concerns would be addressed speedily. They were requested to generate awareness among their families and acquaintances regarding the drug menace and crimes against women. The need for a societal response to these evils was emphasised, at the same time noting that enforcement of laws would be continued in an impartial manner.
SHO RS Pura also addressed the specific concerns raised during the meeting. He urged the participants to abide by laws and to set examples of civil behaviour in their day to day dealings with each other. He also emphasised in the need for a comprehensive response against the drug menace.
