Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 2: In order to provide some relief to thousands of truckers, who are stranded in valley in various parts of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, a langer was organized by BJP leaders.
Pertinent to mention here that due to ongoing disturbances in the Kashmir valley, after the state become an Union territory, the situation in valley is volatile as during some past days there were attacks on the truck drivers in the various parts of valley. It is very fortunate that the terrorists are targeting innocent truck drivers in valley for their no cause. To provide them some relief, we have organized a langer today, said BJP senior leader Kuldeep Magotra.
"In the wake of terror threats, the transport companies seek the earliest intervention from the government to make Kashmir safe for truckers or else would cease to operate in the newly formed Union Territory very soon. The recent attacks on the trucks have heightened the panic among the truckers and transport companies," said Vijay Sharma. It is the duty of government to provide them adequate security, so that they can continue to ply on the NH without any fear. In case the government does not take needful steps for the security of the truckers and drivers then we will have to come on roads so that there is no fear among them on NH in Jammu and Kashmir," said Bhanu Singh Jasrotia, a senior BJP leader.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Balwan Singh, Onkar Singh Boss, Rakesh, Balbir Singh and others.
