Constitution day celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir UT

Jammu, Nov 26: The 70th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India was today celebrated across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, with functions organized at various institutions to mark the day.
The National Constitution Day 2019 was celebrated by remembering its founding fathers and reaffirming the Constitution as the supreme law of India.
Management committee of 'NITL' Higher Secondary celebrated 70th anniversary on the adoption of the Constitution of India. The main objective of this celebration was to raise awareness about the Indian Constitution among the youngsters. Meena Sharma initiated the programme followed by the welcome speech by Anamika Gupta, coordinator.
RM Public school also celebrated the constitution day by organizing a special assembly. The Head girl Aayat and Deputy Head boy Vansh read the preamble to the constitution in the school.
Arjun Rana has also made the students aware of the constitution.
Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department celebrated Constitution Day also called SamvidhanDiwastoday.
The event was organised in Forest Complex Dogra Hall Jammu and attended by Dr.Mohit Gera IFS, Pr. C. C. F J&K as the Chief Guest along with the Addl. Pr. C. C. F Central T Rabi Kumar IFS,CCF WP Sandeep Kujur IFS, CCF Jammu, Sameer Bharati IFS and all the Officers and Staff of Jammu Forest Complex. The Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K, in his address to the staff, explained the history of the Constitution and laid emphasis on its importance.
NSS units and NCC wings of Government College for Women Udhampur observed "Constitution day" by reading Preamble of the Constitution and taking pledge to perform Fundamental Duties.
On the occasion Prof. Subhash Chander, Principal of the College along with staff was present. Principal of the college addressed the volunteers and cadets of the college present and emphasized on the significance of fundamental duties and rights in our lives as the citizens of India.
He particularly emphasized that the Fundamental Duties should have extra edge over Fundamental Rights. Further, he also encouraged the pupil to take the message of importance of observing constitution day to the citizenry via different literary and propagatory activities to be undertaken as a part of campaign till April 2020.
Govt. Degree College R.S Pura commemorated the Constitution day with a pledge where maximum number of students, all faculty members, staff along with Principal gathered to read the preamble of the constitution.
The event was followed by viewing of the live telecast to the commemoration of the constitution day to be addressed by the Honorable Prime Minister of India at Parliament House aired by Rajya Sabha TV and concluded by a lecture delivered by Prof. Meesha Bhagat on the 'Relevance of the Constitution Day' where students' queries/doubts were addressed.
National Constitution Day was celebrated on 26/11/2009 by holding a special assembly session in the Government Degree College Thanamandi.
Large number of students and faculty members of the college participated in the programme where Preamble of the constitution was read out. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi speaking on the occasion advised the students to study, understand and imbibe the values and duties of citizens as embodied in the constitution.
He also impressed upon the students to contribute to the nation building by adhering to the values enshrined in the Indian constitution. Programme was coordinated by Prof Junaid Jazib, Convener Cultural Club of the college. The coordinator spoke in depth regarding the significance of the day. Dr Shameem A. Azad, Dr Shokit Ali, Dr Ibrahim, Prof Tahir Nadeem, Prof Makhdoom and Dr Gohar Wani were also present on the occasion.
NCC cadets and NSS voluntary of Govt SPMR College of cluster university of Jammu were administered oath of the Preamble of Constitution.
The NCC cadets and NSS volunteers along with members of faculty assembled in the college lawns and affirmed their faith in the universal principle of civilised society, to resolve the disputes among groups and organisation by peaceful means and safe guard integrity and unity of country.
Pledge was also taken to never resort to physical violence in neighbourhood or any other part of India. The faculty members were present Prof.Barbara koul, Prof.lalit Ganid, Prof. Savita Jamwal (NCC), Prof. HL Bhat, Prof. Apfan Ali (NSS), Prof. Joginder kumar, Prof. Anjana Chib, Prof. Sarabjeet kour,Prof Kajal Sabyal ,Rajinder Kour,Ms Rachna Devi.
GGM Science College celebrated the constitution day in the college premises, during which the students, NSS volunteers, teaching and non teaching staff of the college took pledge on Preamble of constitution.
Principal Dr Kaushal Smotra and Vice-Principal Dr Mohinder Singh were present on the occasion. The whole event was organized under the supervision of NSS PO Dr. Sarabjeet Kaur Reen, and Dr. Narinder Sharma.
District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, observed the National Constitution Day under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge, (Chairman DLSA) Mohan Lal Manhas .
Among others who attended the programme were Additional Session Judge Soba Ram Gandhi , Sub Judge (CJM) Mohmed Rafiq Chak , Sandeep Kour (Sub-Judge), Secretary DLSA, District Mobile Magistrate Ajay Kumar ,Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Girja Shavan and Munsiff Kamaya Singh Andotra . Besides others Plv ', Staff members of different courts and large number of litigants were present on the occasion . On the occasion judges , staff of courts administered a pledge on the Fundamental Duties .
Speaking on the occasion Chairman DLSA said that on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India had adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
Throwing light on the importance of the Day, Manhas said "The day reminds us of our dedication to serve the society, particularly the poor and downtrodden sections of the society to ensure justice to all and take all steps to provide inexpensive and speedy justice to under-trials, which is their constitutional right.
District Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour spoke on the importance of this National Day.
On the occasion of 70th Constitutional Day, Girdari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College organized a Lecture/Talk on the significance of the Constitution Day. On the occasion Tania Sharma of semester -3rd read out the text of Preamble to the Constitution of India, Kajal Sharma read out the fundamental duties of citizens of India and Aditi Jasrotia shared her views on the historical background and significance of this auspicious occasion of Constitution Day.
Government Degree College Akhnoor celebrated the constitution day on 26 November 2019, as this year marks the 70th year anniversary of the adoption of the Indian constitution. The celebrations in the college started with the introduction on Indian Constitution and its importance by Dr. Harmeet Singh , Department of Political Science. Then the Preamble of Indian Constitution was read out briefly by Prof. Tsering Dorjay of political Science Department. In this event more than 200 students and staff members of the college actively participated in the celebration and took pledge to respect and follow the basic ethos of the Indian Constitution.
Continuing with the Slogan of Indian National Congress " Save India "OBC Department of the Pradesh Congress Committie J&K led by its Chairman Advocate Suresh Kumar Dogra also remembered Framer of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and also read the Preamble of the Constitution which was completely drafted on November 26, 1949 and Came into force on 26 January 1950. The peoples of India were given their fundamental and legal Rights in the shape of Constitution, Dogra said that it is very Unfortunate that some Communal and fascists forces of the Country with their malfied intention trying to violate the silver lines of the holy Constitution and malign its purity.
Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray celebrated first Constitution Day in Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, the Executive Chief Ashwini Gupta, General Secretary Vikas Divan, Secretary Raj Singh, Senior Deputy Chief Surjit Singh, Sanjeev Kohli, Arjun Kumar, Rahul Kundal, Ratna Lal, Janak Raj, Ashish Bali, Mangu Ram, Uttam Singh and many more Leaders and workers were present.
The Law School, University of Jammu celebrated the "Constitution Day" on 26th November 2019, to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. Dr. Satinder Kumar, Director The law School set the tone of the event by reading aloud the Preamble of the Constitution and all the teachers, students, and other guests joined him and took pledge. In his welcome address he lauded the initiatives by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in celebrating Constitution Day which is an innovative thought to make all the people of India aware of their rights and duties. He called upon the students to get guided by spirit of the Constitution while aiming at holistic education.
The Management and Staff of J&K SC, ST & BC Development Corporation today celebrated Constitution Day (National Law Day) also known as Samvidhan Divas in its office premises to mark 70th anniversary of the Constitution Day and to give a tribute to its framers for their tireless and significant contribution in making such a longest guiding document. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director of the Corporation while recalling the exalted rich values and precepts enshrined in the Indian Constitution, remembered the contribution made by one of the revered framer Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. The staff and students of Govt. College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar celebrated Constitution Day with great fervor. An intra college quiz competition was organized in the college to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Constitution day. The four teams were named as Justice, Liberty, Equality & Fraternity. The theme of the quiz was Indian Constitution. Earlier the preamble was read out and the pledge was taken pertaining to the Fundamental Duties of the citizens as mentioned in the Constitution of India. Principal of the college Prof. Raj Shree Dhar spoke on the occasion and deliberated upon the fundamental duties of Indian citizens. She motivated the students to exercise their duties judiciously and be well aware of the constitution as well.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Indian Constitution Day and conducted an assembly today in school to bring to light the emergence of constitution of free India. Students spoke on the importance of our constitution and laid focus on being it's one of the best and largest written constitutions in the world, followed by the Preamble oath taking ceremony where all the staff members and students solemnly took an oath. A video presentation was also conducted by the Mr. Arun Kumar (PGT History) which was based on the formation of constitution of India which tells us about the hard work and struggle of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and his 22 committees who worked day and night and walked along the length and breadth of the world to design world's best constitution.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November 2019 in which the importance of constitution were conveyed to the participant. The objective of the programme was to impart the knowledge to the participant. That is that this document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution of any country on earth. B. R. Ambedkar, chairman of the drafting committee, is widely considered to be its chief architect.
Chairman, J&K,ICS, New Delhi, S.S Sodhi extended greetings to all citizens of J&K and Leh (Ladakh) on the occasion of India's 70th Constitution Day being widely celebrated all over India particularly in all government offices and educational institutions today. Chairing a meeting with all the members of J&K ICS, New Delhi, Sodhi urged all the members to take a pledge to uphold fundamental values and principles on which constitution was founded. Further, informing the gathering he said that India is observing Constitution Day on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India which came into effect on 26th January, 1950. In 2019, Government of India marked the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar as the Constitution Day, to pay tribute to the key framer of the Indian Constitution.
District Police Kathua observed Constitution Day to mark the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the constitution. The constitution day celebrated at District Police Headquarter Kathua, District Police Lines, Kathua and all other subordinate units / SDPO's Offices / Police Stations / Police Posts with full fervor and enthusiasm. The "preamble" to the constitution was read out followed by pledge to the Fundamental Duties on the occasion to give due respect to Indian Constitution to maintain its dignity to constitute India into a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic and to secure all its citizens, Justice, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today on Constitutional Day of India, to apprised President of India through communication about KP community plight and miseries inflicted up on them from the last 30 years and invite his kind attention towards our demand of separate Kashyap Bhoomi for displaced KP,s in the valley. Kundan Kashmiri, through a communication reminded president of India about forcible displacement of about four lakh KP,s from the valley in and after 1989--90 after unleashing a systematic campaign of terror, murder, loot and arson and challenged our co--existence, and now continue to be in exile and isolation from the last two and half decades in various parts of the country, outside their "land of Kashyap" the Kashmir valley.
The Directorate of Rural Development Jammu celebrated the Constitution Day. The Director, Rural Development Jammu, Sudershan Kumar, presided over the celebration while Joint Director (Adm) Joginder Singh Rai, read out the Preamble and the Fundamental Duties enshrined in the Constitution of India. All the staff members of the Directorate and staff of offices of Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu, District Panchayat Officer, Jammu, Superintendent Engineer REW Jammu, Executive Engineer, REW Jammu and Project Officer, DRDA Jammu pledged to uphold the constitution and rededicate themselves for nation building.
The J&K Forest Protection Force celebrated the adoption of Constitution Day at its Headquarters in Narwal. The Preamble to the Constitution was read out and all the employees took the pledge to upload the fundamental duties of the Constitution bestowed upon them.
The Constitution Day was celebrated at the Directorate of Horticulture, Jammu, under the Chairmanship of Shafiqa Khalid, Deputy Directorate (Central) Horticulture in which all the Officers/Officials of the Department participated to acknowledge the contribution of the framers of the constitution and sensitize the people regarding the exalted values and the precepts enshrined in it. Preamble reading ceremony was organized at 11 a.m, followed by pledge to the fundamental duties.
J&K Pollution control Board celebrated Constitution Day at its Headquarters in Jammu. The function was headed by Suresh Chugh, Chairman PCB and organised by Dr. Syed Nadeem Hussain, Regional Director, Jammu and was attended by all the officers and staff of J&K Pollution Control Board. The officers of the PCB took a pledge on the Preamble of the Constitution and the Chairman threw light on the Fundamental Duties as envisaged in the Constitution.
To mark the celebration of the Constitution Day, the 'Preamble' to the Constitution was read out at an assembly of the Officers and Staff of Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu. The staff pledged to follow the fundamental duties. Director Sheep Husbandry Department, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar presided over the pledge ceremony and highlighted the significance of celebration of the Constitution Day on 26th November.
The staff of J&K UT Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes celebrated the Constitution day in the office premises.
Rich tributes were paid to the architect of the constitution of India and the founding father of the Republic of India, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. His contribution in providing constitutional guarantees and protection for civil liberties, abolition of untouchability, freedom of religion and outlawing of all forms of discrimination was cherished.
The Secretary of the Board read out the "Preamble" at 11.00 am to promote Constitutional values among the staff. A pledge to the Fundamental Duties was also taken by the staff members to signify that the people should not overlook Fundamental Duties while exercising their Fundament Rights.
J&K Forest Research Institute officers and staff today observed Indian Constitution Day. Conservator Dr. Jitendera Singh administered oath of allegiance by reading out preamble and 11 Fundamental Duties of citizens towards safeguarding national integrity, sovereignty, saving environment, forests, lakes, wildlife as included after 42nd ' constitution amendment introduced in seventies.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Constitution day in the college in which all the staff and students participated. Er Arun Bangotra, Principal, explained the salient features of Indian Constitution to the students.
Preamble of the Constitution was read out followed by the pledge to the fundamental duties taken by staff and students.
The Constitution Day was observed in the offices of Jammu and Kashmir Forest Corporation across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In Kashmir, the ceremony was led by Muneer Ahmad Shayir, Chief General Manager (S&M) Kashmir in which senior officers alongwith staff took Oath of Allegiance to the Constitution of India. In Jammu, A.R. Moghal, Chief General Manager (P&P) alongwith officers and staff observed the Constitution Day.
Similar functions were also held in Forest Corporation offices at Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri & Udhampur wherein participated.
