Jammu, Nov 28: One day awareness programme on skill development and entrepreneurship in Apiculture was organized by Department of Zoology, University of Jammu, in collaboration with J & K Khadi and Village Industries commission (KVIC) under RUSA-II.
The resource persons for the progamme were D. S Bhatti, State Director, Khadi and Village Industries commission (KVIC), Jammu and Anil Sharma, Asstt. Director, KVIC Jammu. The programme started with the welcome note by Head, Department of Zoology, Prof. Seema Langer, followed by lecture delivered by the resource person, Anil Sharma, Asstt. Director, KVIC Jammu. He highlighted the various schemes sponsored under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) with special reference to J&K. Later on the field demonstration for the establishment and installation of Bee-Keeping equipments was carried out at Zoological Park, University of Jammu. The programme was supervised by Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Roopma Gandotra and Head, Department of Zoology, Prof. Seema Langer. The students of M. Sc. Zoology of both Ist and IIIrd Semesters, research scholars, and non-teaching faculty actively participated in the said programme.
