BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul in valley to take stock of preparation of party elections

Srinagar, Nov 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party' s General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul who is on a visit to Kashmir took stock of party election preparation of valley which is to be held next and met several delegation at Jawahar Nagar office Srinagar.
Ashok Koul had arrived in Kashmir on Thursday and is expected to visit south and north Kashmir in coming days.
A top BJP functionary said that several delegations from across the Srinagar city met Ashok Koul in the office and put forward their grievances which were unheard.
The delegations talked about several problems including that of unscheduled power cut, water logging civic issues and local matters. And, moreover the BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul keenly listened to the grievances and assured them that the all the necessary steps will be taken to redress their problems.
BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul said "I am here in the valley to take stock of the party elections which will commence here from next month and today I meet district presidents of all the districts. And, also I met several delegations of local masses that came with their grievances".
He added that like any other state or Union Territory, party elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir in next month and will be completed in January.
Koul added that party elections are held after every three year and electors get a chance to choose new faces. And, moreover the party elections are very important and president of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh will be elected as per the constitution of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Sharing information about party election, a top BJP functionary said that there are 1500 voters around Kashmir who will vote in the elections where presidents, district presidents and other dignitaries of BJP in party election".
He added, "Only those members are considered as voters who paid 200 rupees for the membership for three years and among 1500 voters majority of people are from south and north Kashmir, with male consisting 70 percent and females consisting 30 percent".
Meanwhile, BJP's General Secretary Ashok Koul accompanied Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Khurshid Ahmad Sanai and Media In-charge BJP Manzhoor Bhat to Karan Nagar where dozens of streetlights were installed by SMC.
