Airtel price increase: This is the time you can consider Airtel postpaid plans over prepaid
12/6/2019 1:34:55 PM
The prices of Airtel prepaid plans have gone up but the company is still giving its postpaid plan at the same prices. No, we don't say that you should switch to a postpaid network just because it is cheaper than prepaid plans. There are many other benefits that come with Airtel postpaid connection and not with the prepaid ones.

Before the price hike, both Airtel postpaid and prepaid connections offered unlimited calling. However, with the latest price hike, calls from Airtel to other networks have been capped. So if you like to make a lot of calls to other networks, Airtel postpaid connection is a better option.

Airtel has recently launched a new postpaid plan at Rs 199 for subscribers in Jammu and Kashmir. The plan offers 25GB data for a month along with unlimited, local and STD calling. The plan also includes 100 SMS per day and Wynk Music subscription. While the plan, for now, is available only in Jammu and Kashmir circle but there are talks that the company can launch it in other circles soon.

Airtel postpaid plans come with added benefits that you won't find in the prepaid plans. For example, Airtel postpaid plan offers up to 3 months of Netflix subscription and one year of Amazon Prime subscription which you won't get with the prepaid connection.

Data benefit is pretty much the same in both cases. For per day data benefit, prepaid connection is a better option as postpaid connection offers data benefit with no per-day capping which can be exhausted in a day or used judiciously so that it lasts for one billing cycle. You will have to buy data packs in case the data limit is exhausted in the middle of the month.
