BJP Mahila Morcha expresses anguish over Hyderabad vet rape-murder after 9 days
Raises no voice against setting on fire of Unnao rape victim yesterday
12/6/2019 11:04:38 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 6: Waking up from a deep slumber after more than a week, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha, J&K today held a silent protest against the rape and murder of a veterinarian in Hyderabad.
But it seems that the women wing of the BJP has not fully woken up from its sleep as it deliberately or inadvertently made no mention of the heinous act of setting ablaze of a rape survivor in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao yesterday where the saffron brigade is ruling for the last two and a half years.
"The silent protest of BJP Mahila Morcha over Hyderabad rape case and not mentioning a single word on Unnao case wherein a rape victim was set on fire by five persons could easily be bracketed as pick and choose policy of saffron party since the latter incident took place only yesterday in the state where it was in power," said an observer.
"It clearly exposes the real face of the saffron party. It is playing petty politics while condemning and holding protests against dastardly acts like rape and attacks on survivors of such dreadful crimes. BJP is trying to befool the masses by mentioning only Hyderabad rape case in its protest that too after a pretty long time following the incident. Not uttering a word on murderous attack on a rape victim in Unnao is nothing but double standards of the party. BJP can not single out the cases of similar nature as per its convenience," he added.
