Released from house arrest, PDP leader hobnobs with ousted colleague
12/6/2019 11:05:37 PM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 6: Even as a senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party was recently "released from house arrest", the man in question is hobnobbing with his ousted colleague with rumor mills being rife that the former may also leave the PDP to join the latter in the coming months.
Sources said the leader, whose son is also a politician, had been in good relations with the other leader, a businessman turned politician, who was ousted from the PDP some months ago.
Sources said the two had been in constant touch with each other and that it was on the "personal intervention" of the businessman-turned-politician that the father-son duo was released one after the other in the last three odd months.
Sources said the businessman-turned-politician has asked the PDP leader to "mobilize his cadres in north Kashmir for a political change."
The sources in the PDP said the party is aware of the "unwanted" affinity between their party colleague and the ousted leader. "It's an open secret that they are in constant touch and our party is likely to take action," said a PDP leader on the condition of anonymity.
It was reliably learnt that the released PDP leader and his ousted party colleague had been in constant touch with each other since the abrogation of the Article 370 on August 5 and that the two would "secretly hold deliberations about their common future plans in politics."
Both have been enjoying "personal relations" for long. "Initially the duo was only into friendship but subsequently became Samdhis. And now the duo holds common political plans," said a source privy to the two.
Sources said the PDP leader and his son were initially not under house arrest. "Somehow suddenly we were told that the father son duo had been put under house arrest, which is difficult to digest because they would often go out their house," said a politician.
Despite repeated attempts the father son duo was no available for comments.
