SDH Sunderbani sans Radiologist
Nexus between Health Dept and Private Radiology Clinics creates impediment for appointment of doctor

Early Times Report
SUNDERBANI, Jan 7: Sub District Hospital (SSH) Sunderbani has been functioning without Radiologist as a result the penitents are forced to go to private radiology clinics to get various allied tests done in the town.
Sources told Early Times that the nexus between the Health Department and Private Radiology Clinic owners in the Sunderbani town has been creating main impediment for the appointment of permanent radiologist in the SDH.
In emergency case, the patients, who are prescribed Ultra-Sound, had to visit private radiology clinics for getting the test done. Moreover the pregnant women, who are entitled to free Ultra Sound diagnostic tests under Janani Shishu Suraksha Kalyan (JSSK) programme had also to face huge problem and had to get it done from private centres. Not to speak of this facility, they are not even provided free pick and drop facility under JSSK.
Although Hospital has Utra Sound machine but due to absence of specialist, it has been rendered useless and had gone outdated. It has been learnt that sometime technicians in the hospital operate it and fail to get good result which don't serve the purpose.
They further said that a radiologist is called from Community Health Centre Kalakote once in a week (i.e on Friday) for conducting radiology tests, which leads to long queues all the day to clear pending tests.
"With the continuous delay in appointment of radiologist, the private players are minting money, who are fleecing the poor patients and allegedly pay commission to some health officials," they alleged.
Astonishingly, the hospital comes under the constituency area of the former MLA Ravinder Raina, who claims of providing all medical facilities in his area but the pathetic condition of hospital has exposed his tall claims.
When contacted BMO SDH Sunderbani Manzoor Hussain, he admitted that the post radiologist has been lying vacant and trying to sort out the issue. Despite repeated calls to CMO Rajouri, he didn't pick up phone.
