JKGPA urges govt to constitute Pharmacy council | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 9: Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association urged upon the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu to constitute state Pharmacy Council in light of Pharmacist Act of 1948 as early as possible. Addressing media persons, president of JKGPA Sushil Sudan said that Drug & cosmetics Act of Union government was not in force in the State but it should to be implemented in UT of Jammu Kashmir on the analogy of implementation of other central acts . It is pertinent to mentioned here that Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association time to time submitted memorandum and request letters to concerned authorities to implement Central Pharmacy Act 1948. Demands put forth by Jammu Chamber of commerce & Industry (JCCI) to save medicine outlets & registration/renewal of licenses. Jammu Kashmir Pharmacist Association are not against anyone to become jobless but health of the people is paramount important. It was also mentioned here that some vested interested officers and officials of Drugs & Food organization of J & K provoking chemists who got certificate on experience basis by ignoring the technical qualifications. The association requested the higher authorities to investigate the issue by a committee. Ch Jarnail Singh, Working President JKGPAssociation.
