Jammu, Jan 9: Describing Citizen Amendment Act as a historical one, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Parade today said that it is clear that CAA will have no effect on citizens of India including Hindus Muslims, Sikh, Jain, Christian and Buddhists.
"There is nothing in the legislation, which targets a particular section of Society as is being spread by motivated by the vested interest elements to gain the undue mileage" DBPS. President Ved Parkash Sharma said this while addressing a well attended a meeting of the Sabha activists here.
Sharma said that there is a need to counter the misinformation campaign and put right facts before nation. He appealed the civil society and other social culture organizations to come forward and challenge the false and baseless propaganda launched by the anti-national elements.
DBPS chief stated that in most of the developed countries of the world, the majority of its citizens participate in all developmental activities actively, but in India much-hyped NRC and the CCA is not only a result of fake propagation and ulterior motives by this element who have been isolated by the people of India, Sharma also urged to strengthen the hands of PM and HM for taking bold steps in the interest of the country and had resolved the issues afflicting the nation for the last 70 years in just eight months. Nobody could have thought that issues like Article 370, Triple Talaq, unhindered verdict on Ram Temple construction and Pakistan sponsored terrorism could be solved like this. Since DBPS is a non-political organization it is our first and foremost duty to raise these public related issues from time to time on humanitarian grounds, he added.
Senior Member of the Sabha Advocate P.C. Sharma who also spoke and appealed to the people to all walk of life to co-operate in the date collection i.e. NPR which has been approved by the NDA Govt. at the centre for updating the National population Register. He said that there was nothing against any Indian belonging to any religion in the CAA.
Prominent social activist B.S.Jamwal (Ex. DC) said that NDA Govt. at the centre had resolved the long pending issues just in 8 months, so it becomes imperative for everyone to understand that the act which only extends citizenship, adding that CAA is a larger interest of the people and appealed to support it.
Tawi Andolan President Chander Mohan Sharma said that the Central Government has brought the legislation in the larger interest of the people and requested everybody to "spread facts and not a myth" in support of the Citizenship Act.
Sabha Vice-president Virendar Mohan Magotra, Satyanand Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Nanak Chand Sharma, Subash Shastri, Madhan Lal Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, K.L.
